Abstract :
This study aims at developing a simulated engine model for the investigation of pre-injection effects on emissions behavior for tallow biodiesel. After examining it experimentally for emissions, multiple injection trials were applied in the simulated engine using tallow biodiesel. One-dimensional model engine of AVL BOOST simulation software was modified as per the real testing engine of the experimental trial. The results were in agreement with experimental trials on a real test engine. This paper reveals that injection angle of 41 BTDC have maximum heat release rate of 142 J/oCA. The highest in-cylinder temperature attained at 1320 K and maximum in-cylinder pressure reached to 6.2 bar. This paper could present the simulation model for a research platform consisting of engine models available for best-suited designs incorporating various combustion improving elements for a similar kind of analysis.
